If you're a backer I strongly suggest waiting until you receive your survey before buying anything from the preorder store, though, since I'm not sure how answering the backer survey afterwards would affect your cart!
After talking with my Crocuta Crafter tier backers, I'm ready to reveal their custom scents! Both had some really amazing ideas and I'm super excited to make these new bars!
First up is Cozy Nooks - Let this bar transport you to your favorite bakery. Sit back and inhale the scent of a cedarwood booth as fresh baked goods fill the air with the warm smell of cinnamon. This scent is perfect for warming you up on rainy days where all you want to do is curl up with a blanket and a good book.
Next we have Maple Orchard - Feel the brisk fall air envelop you as you make your way through this maple scented forest. The trees have been freshly tapped, producing the sugary sweet sap ready to be turned into your favorite topping for pancakes and waffles. This bar swaps out summery sweet manuka honey for pure maple syrup! Antioxidant-rich maple syrup has been found to be effective in protecting skin from inflammation, as well as combating dryness and signs of aging. This bar will leave you smelling - and looking - like sugary sweet treat.
These scents will be available to purchase through the backerkit store as 2oz bars, 4oz bars, and novelty 4-packs. Let me know what you think!

Also, I've almost heard back from everyone that backed one of the "Glamour Shot" tiers. I'm still waiting to hear from 2 backers - if you backed the "Glamour Shot" or "Glamour Shot - WORLDWIDE IDOL EDITION" tiers and haven't heard from me please check your kickstarter inboxes or message me directly! I'll need to hear back from you by no later than the 25th in order to keep things on schedule!
We're just about one week post-campaign. I've sent out all the messages to backers of the Glamour Shot and Crocuta Crafter tiers - if you haven't seen a message from me check your kickstarter inbox!
Kickstarter should be done pulling pledge amounts from everyone so I expect they'll be sending the funds my way soon. Once they do I'll start sending out surveys, ordering everything, and open up the preorder store :)

It takes Kickstarter a couple weeks to gather all the funds and send them to me. As soon as I receive them I'll be sending out your backer surveys and opening up the preorder store for any late backers. Keep an eye on your inboxes, I expect it to be all ready for you no later than the 14th if Kickstarter keeps to their estimated time table!
If you backed a reward tier that allows you to claim or create a scent, expect a message from me very soon! I'll be contacting Glamour Shot tier backers in chronological order from when you backed.
We hit Stretch goal 9, which means every backer with a shippable reward will now receive a free enamel pin! Because we crossed $5k with only a few hours left on the campaign (and while I was asleep 💦) I didn't have a chance to reveal super-secret stretch goal 10. Just for fun, and because we will technically still be fundraising through the backerkit store when it opens up, I'd like to reveal it to you now!
If we manage to get past $6k, I'd like to expend the Hyena Butter product line and add soaps! Like the lotion bars, the soaps would contain kokum butter and honey, but I'll be swapping the coconut milk for goats' milk (both as a cost-saving measure and because goat's milk plays much nicer in saponified soap than coconut milk does!). These soap bars would be 100% coconut oil and palm oil free, keeping to my non-comedogenic promise (replaced with nourishing babassu and sunflower oils) and ensuring the ingredients I source are environmentally friendly.
Why soap? It's one of the most common skincare items you see requested nowadays, and is shower-friendly (where lotion bars which are better suited for post-shower use), but also because you can be super creative with it! Unlike the lotion bars, which have a rather limited working time and require a full mold to have any shape, soaps can be treated sort of like a sculpting base! You can pipe the top of the bars like frosting, add shaped embeds, and do a number of other fun things. I think adding soap to the Hyena Butter collection would be a great step forward, both in offering another healthy addition to your self care routine, and in letting me stretch my creativity!
I also have a very cute art print in the works that would accompany the stretch goal (I'll reveal it in a future update). Maybe if we hit $6k through the backerkit store I'll slip it in with your shipped rewards 😉
